Jurnal Bisnis Administrasi dan Manajemen (ALBAMA) is committed to upholding academic integrity and originality in scholarly publishing. Plagiarism in any form is considered unethical and unacceptable. This policy outlines the journal’s stance on plagiarism, the responsibilities of authors, and the actions taken in cases of violation.
Plagiarism refers to the use of another person’s ideas, data, words, or creative work without appropriate acknowledgment. ALBAMA considers plagiarism to include, but not be limited to:
Direct plagiarism: copying text verbatim without proper citation;
Mosaic or patchwork plagiarism: combining copied phrases or ideas from multiple sources without adequate attribution;
Self-plagiarism: reusing substantial parts of one’s own previously published work without disclosure or citation;
Improper paraphrasing: rewording content that remains substantially similar to the original source without proper citation.
Authors submitting manuscripts to ALBAMA must:
Ensure that their work is entirely original and properly cites all sources used;
Clearly acknowledge any reuse of previously published material, including their own work;
Obtain permission where required for the use of copyrighted material;
Confirm that the manuscript has not been submitted to or published in another journal simultaneously.
Submission of a manuscript implies the authors’ agreement to comply with this plagiarism policy.
ALBAMA reserves the right to take appropriate action when plagiarism is identified at any stage of the publication process, including:
Rejection of the manuscript prior to peer review;
Request for clarification or revision;
Retraction of a published article;
Notification of the authors’ affiliated institutions or relevant academic integrity bodies in cases of serious misconduct.
Editorial decisions are made based on ethical considerations and academic judgment, not solely on similarity percentages.
This policy defines the journal’s ethical position on plagiarism. Details regarding plagiarism detection tools, similarity thresholds, and screening procedures are described separately in the Plagiarism Screening section.
Confirmed cases of plagiarism may result in:
Immediate rejection or retraction of the manuscript;
Temporary or permanent restriction on future submissions to the journal;
Formal reporting in accordance with national or institutional academic integrity regulations.
ALBAMA applies this plagiarism policy consistently to all submissions to maintain fairness, transparency, and trust in the scholarly record. The journal adheres to internationally recognized standards of publication ethics and supports responsible research practices.
